The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 notification has been released by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). UPTET is a state-level eligibility examination for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Level) and Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary Level) in Uttar Pradesh schools.

Eligibility Criteria

For Primary Teacher (Classes 1–5)

Candidates should have:

• Graduation with D.El.Ed (BTC), or
• Graduation with B.Ed, or
• 10+2 with 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed course.

For Upper Primary Teacher (Classes 6–8)

Candidates should have:

• Graduation with D.El.Ed/B.Ed, or
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a recognized teacher training qualification.
